🌱Employment Opportunity: Urban Kai Educator with Common Unity
Are you passionate about supporting our local tamariki and rangatahi in the garden - sharing the joy of play in the māra and empowering our future growers?
Common Unity Project Aotearoa (CUPA) is a community-based urban development project and registered charity. We grow food, skills, leadership and enterprise to empower our local communities. We work collaboratively with the community, schools and organisations across Te Awakairangi ki Tai, Lower Hutt.
Te Māra Kotahinga (The Unity Garden) at Epuni primary kura is where it all began and it is still flourishing today. Every Tuesday morning, our awesome young farmers give us a helping hand growing all this food, but we also need grown up hands - yours! - to help plan and deliver these sessions. On Saturdays, we have an amazing team of volunteers from the community to help tend to the garden also - this role would support them too. Finally the person in this role would create and deliver opportunities for other rangatahi from around the area to connect with the garden. You will be knowledgeable about gardening and comfortable incorporating tikanga Māori into lesson plans.
