Common Unity Project Aotearoa wins regional community awards
Common Unity Project Aotearoa won the Supreme Award at the 2014 Wellington Airport Regional Community Awards last night.
In the words of our Founder, Julia Milne, “Big thanks to Wellington Airport and the Wellington Community Trust for this wonderful honour and a great night celebrating all the goodness in our region. We're so thrilled and humbled. And big love, as always, to all of our lovely volunteers and supporters. Such a proud moment for our Epuni community.”
“We were really impressed with how Common Unity Project has evolved in just two short years. From their humble beginning as a small garden project to now becoming a model that will be used around New Zealand, their work is just phenomenal," said Steve Sanderson, Chief Executive of Wellington Airport.
“The Community Awards celebrate and support the volunteers who provide a vital service to our region’s communities and once again we have been been blown away by the groups that have been nominated for an award. We hope these awards keep up the inspiration for people to volunteer or give back to their local community in some way."
